DESCRIPTION: French, Waterfall Automaton, C.1860, with a small bell strike movement with early cylinder platform. The twisty glass tube simulates water pouring from the maidens jug above the clock. The automaton is a separate movement in the base of the clock, wound from the right side.
CONDITION: very good to excellent condition overall, the two tone bronze & ormolu case is still bright and attractive. The quality of the mounts and maiden is outstanding. Well made bell strike movement; note driveshaft for the water goes up between bell and movement, requiring a platform mov't. Ht 17"
